Ingredients

Serves : 2
  • Rice 1 cup


  • Tomatoes 6


  • Onions 2


  • Garlic pods 15


  • Ginger Garlic paste 2 spoons


  • Cinnamon 1 inch


  • Cloves 2


  • Fennel seeds powder 1/2 spoon


  • Oil 6 spoons


  • Chilly powder 1 spoon


  • Salt 2 spoons


  • potato 1/4 kg


  • Turmeric powder 1/2 spoon


  • Mint leaves 1/2 handful


  • Oregano powder 1/2 spoon

Directions

  • Grind the tomatoes in a mixie into a smooth paste.
  • Chop onion into small pieces.
  • Put a kadai on the stove and add oil.
  • When the oil is hot add cinnamon and cloves.
  • After they splutters add onion and saute well.
  • When the onion turns into golden brown add gg paste and garlic pods.
  • Then add chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt.
  • Add Tomato paste.
  • When it boils close the kadai with the lid.
  • Cook for 10 minutes
  • Switch off the stove when it reaches thicker consistency.
  • Add mint leaves.
  • Mix this gravy with rice.
  • Serve hot with potato fry
  • For potato fry:
  • Cook potatoes in the cooker
  • Cut onions into small pieces.
  • Peel the skin of potatoes when it is cold. Mash it lightly with hand.
  • Saute onions with gg paste, fennel seeds powder, oregano powder, salt and chilly powder.
  • When raw smell goes add potatoes.
  • Saute it in low flame and stir it often until it becomes a roast.
